Shoe Box Sentiment
Welcome to the #WouldYouRatherRead series! One place where a nifty first-person point of view, articulate alliteration, and no shortage of story-telling will ask you…
Tell me, which would you rather read?
As a small business owner, you wear a lot of hats. Your passion got you to where you are today so you should invest in it. Our operational management software helps you stay organized and focused on what you love.
At 5am on a Tuesday morning, I watched the first rays of sunlight reach onto the black and white tiles of my kitchen floor. The racks sung a metallic echo as I pulled a small batch of croissants out of the oven. I took in the anticipation of waiting appliances and aromas of fresh bread. I felt a pang of sadness overcome me for a seemingly lost passion. Where along the way did my identity as a chef mold into the head of operations, marketing, sales, finance, and human resources?
Grabbing my freshly baked croissants and black coffee, I made my way back to my cluttered office. It was in a state of disarray that could only be saved by Marie Kondo. But until she walked through my door, the invoice-shoe-box-method would have to suffice.
I used my forearm to clear enough room for my clunky laptop and set down my coffee. As I turned to grab my charger, my elbow caught the rim of my mug with enough force to send 8 ounces flying. As the coffee and ink combined, I wondered for the second time this morning how I had gotten to this place in my career.
The answer was sitting on a small white kitchen towel in front of me. Two buttery, golden brown croissants waiting to be paired with strawberry jam. This is what I wanted to share with the world, and something I’m driven to continue.
I always knew the shoe box system had flaws, it just took some coffee to prove it.
I made the decision right then and there to invest in operational management software. Something that could help me stay organized and effective yet still maintain a healthy amount of shoe box sentiment.
