One of the benefits of being a filmmaker is the opportunity to remain kind of a perpetual student.

humanstory-behind the scenes (Interviews)

My filmmaking style is most likely the result of watching films in my two favorite genres, romantic comedy (yes, I just admitted that) and interview driven documentary.

The first one might have obvious applications in wedding films but the latter may not be as obvious to some.   Who in their right mind would want to interview people on  their wedding day much less be interviewed?

Those who think that interviews are intrusive or cheesy may be surprised to find that they can be a beautiful part of wedding film.

For me nothing is quite as engaging as someone telling you their story while you look in their eyes.   I love the nuances , the rhythms, the expressions, the imperfections and honesty that I get to witness during these interviews.  It is a true portrait of who these people are at this moment in time.

I am always moved by the eloquence of common people.   At the end of the day, thats the thing that stays with me.

Thanks to Erik Leise for the photos.
